Saturday 23rd January 2010, hot, bloody hot & I didn't want to go. Do the right thing, swelter all the way to Nudgee Shell. A few riders there, no problem. Asked at the meeting for numbers, about 10, I book for 15, arranging parking for 7 or 8 bikes. At 5.25 pm temperature cooler, my temperature rises, 20 people & 4 more to meet along the way. Total 24. Knowing The Hot Chilli Bean Thai Cafe in Coolum is only a hole in the wall I ring them to let them know I booked for 15 and 24 on the way, silence, some oohs & aahs. Probably be alright. 5.30pm, we're out of here. still hot but some what cooler. Ended up being a very pleasant ride with the sun setting over the Glasshouse Mountains leaving us shadows to ride in. Turning off at Yandina everybody got excited winding around the roundabouts after such a straight ride up the highway. We arrived at Coolum to stares & excitement from the locals. Whilst eating the interest in the bikes was unbelievable, having to stop people sitting their kids on some but enjoyed the interest. Ready to leave after some very good food, Trevor allowed a couple to put their kids on his bike for photos but then couldn't get them off. We then headed to Mooloolaba for ice-cream taking the scenic route ( thanks Rusty) The eye candy was something to behold, I'm glad my daughters are no longer that age. We pulled up at the Cold Rock Ice-Cream shop just in time to ask them to open their doors again to let us in. After Ice-cream & chit chat in the car park we headed back down the Highway leaving Rusty & Maree to go home to Bli Bli, then the remaining bikes stopped at BP Caboolture South for coffees & last hurrahs. All in all in my view a very good ride & enjoyable night. Those who let me know they were coming I thank you, the others maybe next time. Till next time, catch you later. Larry |
