Ride

Kingaroy and Beyond
Wow what a fantastic morning blue sky and bright sunshine not a cloud in the sky, although Mr Skids rang on Friday to check if the ride was still on, I said sure will I have faith that all will be good for the days ride.
Mrs. Bribie and I arrived at BP north just before 8.30 to find two members had arrived, grabbed a coffee and sat around having a chat till the rest arrived.
By departure time we had a good roll up of 10 bikes in all and a stray (ha ha) who happened to be going on a ride on his own, Bevan or Eric not sure who, invited him to join us, hope you had a good day Ian. (very nice RED 1500).
It was a good trip up to Blackbutt for our first stop a little slow in places due to wanna be 4X4 drivers, particularly for Mr Magic who hurtled by me at a great rate of knots, only a quick stop for a drink and a loo stop and we left for our morning tea stop at Kingaroy, it was much better not many people in our way and we made good time.
Upon our arrival at Taste South Burnett for morning tea and for those who wished to partake the wine ,cheese and fudge tasting, which was very nice indeed, I bought some cheese and Rosemary graded some wine. Our hosts Megan and Shannon looked after everyone's needs a pleasant time was had by all.
Mike and Maree had to leave early due to a prior engagement, hope you had a good ride and a safe trip home.
The next leg took out through Wondai, Murgon, Goomeri to our next stop for lunch Kilkivan at Left Bank with our hosts Bruce and Rae. It was a great ride along the open road with the fantastic views of the surrounding country side and every now and then opening up the throttle and letting it rip.
We arrived at Kilkivan at about 1.30 and were met by our hosts Bruce and Rae, we got our drinks and our fantastic lunches, we were shown out to the back deck which was set up for us, lovely cool and breezy The Red Claw Crayfish salad was very good as was the Ploughman's Platter, a dessert of an apricot Danish on a bed of chocolate with a drizzle of raspberry jus, this was then followed by coffee of our choice. There were a few of us who felt we needed a grandys nap after all that food before we took our journey home.
We would like to thank our hosts Bruce, Rae and staff for a most enjoyable and relaxing lunch.
The ride home was very frustrating the part between Kilkivan and the Bruce highway was good, but from Gympie to our final stop at Caboolture for our coffee and ice cream was an absolute nightmare with a large dose of frustration thrown in for good measure, but all in all it was a great day rosemary and I thank you all for joining us for the day, keep the shinny side up and we shall see you all again soon.
